It is freezing today and due to get colder, can you even imagine having to sleep on the streets on a night like tonight or any night in fact!
It was reported recently that Homeless numbers in south Dublin rose 60% in nine months. This problem is not going away.
I posted earlier this week about the box we put together for team hope and the other charities you could do a shoebox appeal for but there are several other charities that need your help too.
I love Christmas but for many it must be such a stressful and lonely time. If a few donations to different charities can give someone a hot meal, a safe bed for the night then with all that is spent this festive season this seems like something small we could do that could make a big difference if enough people took part. It is easy to think ‘my 4 euro or donation won’t make a difference’ but as I said if enough people do then it does!
The first charity that desperately needs help has just launched their Christmas appeal. Focus Ireland makes an urgent appeal for donations as record number of over 1100 families now homeless this year and 2500 children will be homeless this Christmas when Christmas should be a happy and magical time for them, this is not the reality.
Focus Ireland supported over 12,500 people who were homeless or at risk. Focus Ireland stressed that every euro donated counts in the battle against homelessness as 89 cents of every euro received by the charity goes directly to services to support people who are homeless and those at risk.
