Today we went to the Meerkat Play Cafe, based in Dun Laoghaire. There are a few of these types of play centres around but I had heard good reports about this one so off we went.
It has been open 3 months and is just beside McCormick’s pub on Mount town road, in a small industrial estate and has plenty of parking. It is 5 euro for the first child and is reduced for subsequent children.
It’s a really sweet, clean, inviting set up and the owners have put a lot of love and care into the place. They toys are probably most suited to 8/9 months up so perhaps the only thing would be to introduce a few more items for 6 months + range but that could be my only small criticism as we just loved it.
The little cafe has delicious homemade cakes, the raspberry & almond tray bake was divine and a really great, well priced set menu for older kids. They are also well equipped with baby food, snacks and fruit if you have forgotten anything which is great.
Josh was just in his element and I can see him enjoying it more and more as the months go by.. I will definitely be popping down again soon and bringing a few mummy friends in tow too!
Check them out here and get down there soon before word gets out.
